What is the purpose of cemmNet?
cemmNet a is Web-based tool and resource for medical professionals wishing to share and discuss patient education issues. The goal is to improve the professional practice of patient education as participants learn from each other by sharing and answering patient education related questions. This tool is for patient educators or healthcare providers who work in a healthcare setting.
How do I send messages to other members on the list?
To send a message to other cemmNet members, go to www.cemm.org and click on “cemmNet” and login. Click on “Post a Question”. At “Post a Question” you will need to enter a Subject and Message and then click on “Post”. Once you click on “Post”, cemmNet will automatically update the database, post your question to the Web site, and send an email with your question to all cemmNet users. The email will contain the question and a direct hyperlink to the cemmNet Web site so that other cemmNet users may return to the Web site and respond to the question.
How do I reply to a message from cemmNet members?
There are two choices to reply to messages:
How do I remove myself from the cemmNet emailing list?
Go to cemmNet, login and click on “edit profile”. At the bottom of your profile is a question that asks, “All messages posted on cemmNet will be sent to you unless you select "no". Click “no”. You will no longer receive emails from cemmNet. You will still have a user name and password on cemmNet so you may return at any time to use the resource. If you decide to receive cemmNet emails again, login and click on “edit profile” and change the answer to “yes.”
How do I find out who is registered?
The list of registered users and their email addresses are NOT available to registered or non-registered users. Of course, messages that you send and reply to on the cemmNet Web site will include your email address in the header.
What rules govern the use of cemmNet?
CemmNet is not to be used for commercial advertising. However, information on conferences, books, programs, etc. may be discussed as long as it is consistent with the goal of cemmNet and keeps with professional standards of etiquette and language. The cemmNet is not moderated. However, the cemmNet has the option to invoke moderation at any time should the need arise. If moderated, however, posts to this list will not be edited. The moderator will accept or reject posts in their entirety.
